Portugal international Bruno Fernandes scored one of the goals as Manchester United secured a big derby win at the home of city rivals Manchester City. The successful penalty means that the Portugal player has now scored 18 of his last 19 penalties. Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus paid the price for being rash with his tackle on Martial. From that point, Manchester City never recovered from that deficit. Manchester City struggled to fashion out clear-cut opportunities as the Red Devils were defensively sound. One of the Manchester United defenders Luke Shaw was responsible to the second goal off the assist from Marcus Rashford. The two Three Lions of England combined to give the visitors a cushion at the start of the second half. Manchester United were able to preserve their 2-0 advantage till the end of the game. The win made it three successive victories for Manchester United at Manchester City in the last three seasons. They were able to take four points off Manchester City and also reduce their lead at the Premier League summit to 11 points with ten matches left to play this season.


For Portugal international playmaker Bruno Fernandes, he has now scored 16 goals in the Premier League this term to take him within one goal of leading goalscorer Mohamed Salah who drew blank this weekend. Salah was unable to add to his 17 league goals as his Liverpool team suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Fulham on Sunday.
